Absence of Technology

Themes of gaze, objectification and hierarchy are all disscussed in my work through text, sculpture, photography and painting. My dissertation urged me to consider the visual impact of my work where I aim to embrace themes of femininity but also conceal it through the macabre. I have also moved away from using real meat to avoid moral contradictions. These are considerations that I may have previously overlooked. Using a more calculated approach, I have more control over how the body is portrayed. Reclaiming it through a process of self-objectification and seeing beauty within violence. Through these stark contrasts, I aim to tackle more passive representations of the body in a form of activism.
